What we actually tested 09 OCT 2026
Two bounded 2Captcha Scraper API requests returned usable HTML and Markdown for the same keyboard search. The raw HTML contained 62 listing cards: two promotional placeholders were excluded, leaving 60 unique numeric item IDs. We parsed titles, displayed prices, condition, seller feedback and shipping labels from the current s-card markup.
A direct HTTP request returned 403. The provider requests succeeded without a separate Browser API session, custom proxy or AI call. These tests validate one search response, not sustained throughput, sold-history coverage or every eBay market.
The most economical tested provider route for these fields was one raw HTML request plus deterministic parsing. Detail-page enrichment, retries and maintenance add cost. We do not calculate charges from the provider's debug price field.

Can I use eBay's official API instead of scraping?
Yes. eBay's Browse API supports item search and item details with OAuth authentication. We assess it first when your access, required fields and permitted use fit. This page's sample came from public search HTML through 2Captcha, not from an authenticated eBay API call. We have not tested your eBay developer access.
Does a sold count give me the actual sale price?
No. A published sold count is a listing-level signal, not a transaction feed. A current asking price, an auction bid and an accepted Best Offer can be different amounts. We did not collect completed listings or verified transaction prices in this sample, so sold_price stays null.
How do you keep currency and shipping comparisons meaningful?
We agree the marketplace, displayed currency and delivery destination before a production collection. This HTML response showed a provider-default delivery label of UKR, 54056; the separate Markdown response showed a different destination. Neither was a destination we configured. We preserve the observed label, keep ambiguous dollar currency null, and never treat free shipping as universal.
Can you distinguish sponsored results and deduplicate listings?
We deduplicate this sample by the numeric item ID in the listing URL, not a tracking hash or title. Sponsored labels in the observed HTML were obfuscated; this parser does not establish ad status, so sponsored is null, not false. Production ranking or ad analysis needs separately validated placement detection.
Do you visit every listing individually?
Only when the requested fields require it. Search pages can provide many listing summaries in one response; detail pages may be needed for item specifics, variations or seller terms. We plan enrichment around missing fields and refresh changing data, rather than automatically fetching every URL again.
Will a keyboard search contain only complete keyboards?
No. Our sample also returned replacement keycaps and accessories. Keywords alone are not a product taxonomy. We can scope category filters, item-specific rules or optional AI classification, while retaining the original title and reporting what was excluded.
Is this a ready-to-call eBay JSON endpoint?
No. The sample is a validated research extraction from one search response. The self-service Scraping API returns accessible public page content; it does not expose this eBay-specific parser as a public endpoint. A maintained eBay dataset, delivery API and refresh schedule are agreed as a managed project.
